Yeah Dr i posted the NBA 2K10 patch on the NBA 2k10 forum and it was removed for what one mode posted as "Piracy". The argument was if 2K wanted people to download the patch offline then they would make it available to download on their site.Needless to say when i made the argument that if 2K wanted their official Rosters to be downloaded offline they would post them on their site also.....I never got a response back on that one.

#5 Better physics, AI and overall Game-play. You can't call it a next-gen game when it plays like a 80's Nintendo game. No excuse for this type of game in today's world.

Couldn't agree more Josh44, here is what I have noticed though over the years of being a parent of 2. Most parents and I think its safe to say 80% of parents neglect to teach their kids reality from fiction, and right from wrong, those parents are the biggest problem with the war on games because they feel games should teach their kids rather than them being an actual parent.

I agree on your views of NCAA, but some of the things you say about Live (and not just you, other people as well) confuses me. You mention the one pass quick shoot thing, but in my experience, this only happens with teams that really play that way. The dynamic DNA dictates a lot of what happens in that game, and for me, I only see weird things from teams and players that have a tendency to do weird stuff.
Also you mention the success of the pick and roll, but almost every team in the NBA has some level of success using it. Any team that has a slow PF or C gets put into pick and roll situations with high regularity, and usually, it works just as it does in the game, I don't see that as a flaw, it reflects the sport. College teams play way more zone so naturally, pick and rolls shouldn't have the same level of effectiveness as they do in the pro ranks, it's apples and oranges

Lol, yeah I was talking pounds, as in Linemen. But yeah, QB's deal with those pesky LB's too, which just further illustrates my point of them being under fire from the biggest and hardest hitters on the field from a defenseless position, often taking shots from their blind sides even when protection doesn't break down

That google OS looks more like VMWare or a virtual sandbox than a true OS. Probably best suited for netbooks or phones than top of the line computer systems. I can't see giving up my Snow Leapord for it. I do like the idea of the browser as a VM though. I think google is onto something there. I do NOT like the idea if it's closed source though. I don't trust google to manage it (or any company for that matter).

Ehh, I respect your opinion on b-ball titles a lot so this means a lot coming from you. I'm looking forward to picking this up; the presentation alone makes it a buy for me.On a side note, I'm disappointed you sold off Live as I enjoyed discussing various solutions to the issues we were seeing in the game, but I understand your reasoning.
Call me stubborn but I'm sticking with Live. I agree the patch hurt some things but it also improved other areas. If the 2nd patch can fix the problems the 1st caused, I'll be more than pleased.

I can see where you can say that athletically (except in some cases, like a Steve Young in his prime, where that doesn't really apply) But overall, everything works off the QB to some extent, almost like a Pitcher in Baseball, so while they might not be the best "players," they're definitely the most important.

Excellent writeup man. I'm holding off on the game for now but might pick it up whenever the patch drops and I can get it for a bit cheaper. Also looking for more info on Dynasty mode.

QB's are routinely named the best players of their respective teams because they have much more responsibility than any other player on the team. Only Lineman come close in terms of what they must know.Besides being the "coach" on the field and being tasked with leading his players, the QB is responsible for knowing not only every facet of his offense, including receiver routes (both normal and hot) but also blocking coverages along with clock management.
On top of that, they must recognize everything the defense throws at them, from coverage to blitz schemes. Even still, it's the most defenseless position on the field. If the blocking breaks down, and sometimes even when it doesn't, the QB is subjected to hits he can't see from the biggest people on the field.
Have you ever heard a QB recite just one full NFL play? Try memorizing a whole playbook of that stuff, then being expected to stare down the barrel of a 310 LB man running full speed at your face while throwing a pass on time and accurate to a player who can run a 4.3 40. Trust me, QBs aren't overrated, in the least, and especially not Brady. IF anything, he's the most underrated 3-time champion I've ever seen

BTW,you really dont have to be athletic to play that position.it takes good foot work,ability to throw the ball,and it really doesn't require running.so judging from that,could a QB really be considered better than every player from every position?

we both have football experience so no one is winning there.i play multiple positions such as HB,TE,WR and on defense i play on the line. i'm 5'10" and 156lbs,i play youth football and in the image with me running the ball,that was the allstar game.__________________________________________________ _______________
you are not getting the point,im talking about QB's in general.
my whole article was based on the fact that a host said that "tom brady is the best football player".
HB's take more punishment than QB's because they are either delivering or getting the hit.thats an every run thing for them.
all im saying is that,you could NEVER say that a QB is better than everyone else on that field.
say if there was some kind of leader in a war with his soldiers.his solders are fighting and the leader is sitting back watching.although the leader did nothing you'll say he did much better than everyone just because he held a gun for his own protection and that a couple bullets flew past him.
also,it would have been better if he said that brady is the best among other QB's but certainly not every other player.

Plain and simple, only 5 QB's have won super bowls that are not current or future Hall of Famers. Your Ingram comparison might hold a candle had the OP not said NFL LIVE. College and NFl are different any way. Put it to you like this; if you play a game on the LOS where both OL's and DL's collide, you would not be as sore as when you are throwing the ball and a DL is knocking you down just about every throwing down. Even option QB's take their licks. All this coming from a former OL/DL lineman. I know the trenches, I've been there.

Granted, I'm assuming it's a glitch, since it doesn't seem to happen with every ad; just with most of them. Most notable: I had the Twix ad come up 37 straight downs before I had to turn the game off and start again. I also had the Grilled KFC ad come up for 28 downs before I stopped the game. But get this; just last week, I played an entire game (5 min. quarters) and had only three ads come up the whole game--each one different. I thought the problem was fixed, right? Nope! Went back the next day, had a Samsung ad pop up 18 straight downs before I had to stop. So, it's gotta be a glitch....doesn't it?

I didn't realize them popping up every single time was a glitch. I just figured that's the way they work. That's what's happening when I play the game. When an Ad starts popping up, it shows up every single play for the entire game, no matter what. Only way to stop it is to exit the game and go back to the Dashboard and start the game up again, praying they won't rear their ugly head again.

What no one seems to notice is that there is a glitch with some of the ads which brings them up EVERY SINGLE TIME the banner appears. And I don't mean an different ad every time; it's the SAME AD over and over. Now, I don't like the ads, but I could live with them if they would only come up, say, once per possession. And as long as the ad would change each time, that'd be tolerable. But that's not the case right now. I realize not everyone had come across this glitch, which is why those people don't see the big deal about the in-game ads. But trust me, no matter how much the ads don't bother you, anyone would get tired of seeing the same ad over and over and over and over. If they could just patch this problem, all would be well.

Not true at all shigogouhou. Ads should only be added to 'enhance' the gaming experience, not for the sake of simply introducing Ads into the game (this is true for all games, not just Madden). Does a commercial make the game more authentic from a visual standpoint? I don't think so, not at all. I'm not seeing commercials if I'm at the game. However, I do see the banners on the field, on the stadium in various places, and many times on the scoreboards. And even from a broadcast standpoint, commercials are not part of the NFL presentation, but part of the stations programming. I'm fairly certain Madden is attempting to represent a NFL game, not a televisions programming itenerary.

If you're going to cite "If you see it on Sundays" in regards to ads, realistically at every timeout & change of possession you should get a full-screen 30-second commercial. In comparison to that, a tab in the lower right & a couple not-so-witty puns about Snickers don't seem so bad.

Again, you're missing the point Computalover, it's not the fact that they are selling Ads, it's how the Ad was employed. Yes, I would sell Ads, and do everything I could to capitalize on it, but I would also do it in a manner that enhances the experience, not detracts from it, and I certainly wouldn't violate the mission statement for the game 'if you see it on Sunday'. To be honest, EA's entire marketing strategy for Ads is flawed. They need to move towards getting users to go online. That means providing viable web based content, and then selling Ads there. Why? Because the payout on a clickthrough is literally worth hundreds of thousands of impression Ads. This is where I look at their Product Managers and wonder if they truly understand their space.

its one box dude, it pops up on occasion for a few seconds man.. most of the time i dont even notice. but why are we B & M'in about this? i mean if its a way to add additional money to their pockets, so be it. this is a game to make MONEY folks.. the more the better. and if they feel that this is a way to do it, then whateva.. and besides, what ad has anything to do with the sport really, except to advertise tickets and official crap? madden is a captive audience of over 100 million folks. then you multiply it by the ones that are playing their buddies, online, the folks watching their buddies, millions of folks captured for at least 20 minutes.. advertising gold!! and all you do is slip a small box ad every so often? now if you had a vehicle with this kind of resource.. wouldn't you sell ads?

Hey geezmeister, I fail to see how expressing my frustration with the popup Ad conveys a vendetta against EA. I am a little confused though. You say you completely disagree, and then you say you agree the Ads could be incorporated better.Let me ask you this - if I trade the game in, what is my other choice for a NFL game? I appreciate the suggestion, but trading the game in simply isn't a possibility if I want to play a NFL game. I have only one choice, and that's Madden. That's why EA has such a huge responsibility to the gamers, and resolving big issues such as the Overlay Ads. You can say it's not a big deal, but it truly is a huge issue for a LOT of gamers, just search the web for it or even visit other forums and you'll see thread after thread complaining about it. As the ONLY option for NFL gaming, EA really needs to put their gamers first and address this issue for them.
