This is the college football forum. Not the "I'm going to be Mel Kiper" forum.

You want to know who you want? Scoreboard. Two National Titles and a Heisman Trophy. Two Conference Championships, followed by a third SEC East Title.

I'm sorry FSU fan, but the inferiority complex showcased in this thread is worth laughing about. It's got to be touch being for the Noles when they have just been outpaced by the likes of USF in the grand scheme of college football. Or that Miami has fallen and risen so quickly once again.

Hey, rather than making threads about Tim Tebow, maybe you should make threads about QBs who are more on Ponder's mediocre level; Jacory Harris. I mean, Ponder still gets trounced, but this argument is much more valid.

This whole thing is just absolutely asinine. Freaking small people syndrome.
Well said, sir.

Tebow, easily.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd rather have an average QB who wins than a Peyton Manning type who doesn't win.

Ehhh this is gunna be weird to say but I agree with Massnole. FSU with a competant QB might of gotten an extra NC in the early 2000's.

Do you also forget how insanely talented the FSU defense was in 2003 and 2004, and when I say insanely talented I'm talking player for player as good if not better than any other team this decade.
There is no chance FSU could have beaten USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, or Utah in 2003 or 2004.

FSU's defense either years wasn't as good as 2003 LSU or Oklahoma or 2004 Auburn, USC, or Oklahoma.

Those are just facts

Players on the 2003 FSU defense included:
- Antonio Cromartie
- Ernie Sims III
- Kamerion Wimbley
- Travis Johnson
- Broderick Bunkley

- Bryant McFadden
- Darnell Dockett
- Michael Boulware
- Buster Davis
- Jerome Carter
- Chauncey Davis
- Eric Moore
- Pat Watkins
- A.J. Nicholson

Those were just the guys who were NFL Draft picks and didn't include solid college players like Stanford Samuels, Kyler Hall, Leroy Smith, Rufus Brown, and Ray Piquoin. So no, none of those teams had defenses that remotely compared to the talent on that 2003 Florida State defense. You also seem to be forgetting if not for the meltdown against Clemson that FSU would have been in the BCSCG.

As I also said if Jimbo Fisher was the OC in 2003, yes that team is winning a MNC.

Meyer didn't do that and college coaches never do that. College coaches like Meyer bring their respective styles/systems with them and then recruit players for their style/system.

Meyer did kind of tailor it for Tebow. They've ran shotgun exclusively for Tebow untill this year, that's because Tebow feels more comfortable in the Shotgun.

Oklahoma both years, LSU, USC, and Auburn all finished higher in points allowed than FSU playing far better competition.

So if Clemson doesn't firmly beat FSU there's a chance that they go to the championship and get stomped?

Maybe if they don't get pounded by Clemson they lose to NCState or Florida instead of scraping by both.

FSU wasn't beating any of the teams I mentioned. You should come to terms with it. Every program has a million what if scenarios. If Florida State can magically beat Clemson, Oklahoma beats Kansas St, LSU beats Florida, Miami beats Tennessee, USC beats Cal, and Ohio State beats Michigan and FSU finishes outside of the top 5.

College coaches never do what, tailor their offenses to Tebow? I agree, since no one else has a Teboy besides Urban, who did in fact adjust his system to him, and Leak before him. What sorry *** coach do you know who doesn't tweak his system to play on the strengths of his personnel?

Re: Who would you rather have as your Quarterback: Christian Ponder vs. Tim Tebow

Tebow, no question. Ponder is already a good player and improving, but the standard for judging quarterbacks always has been and always will be "does he win football games". Tebow has won as many big games as any collegiate quarterback to ever play, earning himself a place on two National Championship teams and a Heisman Trophy in the process, whereas Ponder has yet to come away with a signature win to this point in his career.
