POST YOUR TEAM FRANCHISE UPDATES HERE

Post your ramblings about your franchise here without having to post a game by game franchise! I'll post the info on my Cubs one later on.

Looking forward to seeing how everyone is doing...

Sorry to say this thread might be closed, I know they have closed all franchise related threads before and want you to post them in the franchise section. Hopefully it will stay open, I love to read about the different moves everyone makes.

I don't have a problem with this. Don't turn it into a daily update, but sure, discussing how you're doing in your franchise is a positive.

re: POST YOUR TEAM FRANCHISE UPDATES HERE

I have played 40 games in my Phillies Franchise. (Vet difficulty for the first month and then bumped to All-Star)
I'm 24-16, 1.5 G up on the Braves (Who have a very strong rotation!!!)
Ryan Howard had already 13 HR (leading Majors with Pujols and Griffey Jr lol) but my best player is definitively Chase Utley (more than a .300 avg, a .370 OBP, .490 SLG, 25 R, 28 RBI, 3SB, .450 avg with RISP)
My best pitcher is Cliff Lee 6-1 with a 2.95 ERA.
And I traded Madson because he blew 5 saves in 11 games...

The most surprising seems that the Red Sox are ranked 4th in thier division with a 5.65 ERA as a team, worst in MLB!!!

And my last game in Cincinnati was my best offensive game with 16 runs scored.

re: POST YOUR TEAM FRANCHISE UPDATES HERE

In my Cubs chise I just rolled into May 1st. I am 1.5 games back from St. Louis. Soriano is doing awful hitting only a .211 My best hitter is Ramirez with 5 HR's and 18 RBI's. I play with customer sliders to get more realistic stats.

My worst pitcher is Harden at 1-2 with a 4.05 E.R.A. and 21 k's. This has been the best baseball chise I've ever done. I can't stop playing. lol

re: POST YOUR TEAM FRANCHISE UPDATES HERE

I normally don't post franchise stuff, but this is my first year with "The Show" and I'm having a blast keeping on-schedule with the current Cubs season. After 120 games (Aug 19):

Cardinals 81-41
Reds 65-55
Brewers 64-56
Cubs 61-59
Astros 53-67
Pirates 46-76

WC Race:
Reds
D-Backs 0.5 GB
Brewers 1.0
Phillies 1.0
Cubs 4.0
Nationals 4.0
Braves 4.0

My lineup:
Soriano .318
Beltran .329
Ar. Ramirez .323
Teixeira .280
N. Johnson .328
Soto .279
Bill Hall .289
Fontenot .286

Bench:
J. Vitters
G. Kottaras
J. Baker
J. Gathright
R. Johnson

(Hall is playing short as Theriot just got hurt for the season)
(Nick Johnson is playing RF for Bradley for another week or so)

Rotation:
Dempster 13-7 4.12
Randy Johnson 9-7 5.39
Harden 11-8 3.25
Zambrano 10-8 3.13
David Price 2-1 2.63

Bullpen
R. Wells
A. Heilman
N. Cotts
E. Gagne
C. Marmol
B. Wagner
K. Gregg

Significant trades I've made: (I normally don't make this many trades, but with my Cubbies under .500 I had to make some moves)
J. Samardzija, W. Castillo, and E. German for D. Ortiz, G. Kottaras, and B. Traber
D. Lee and B Guyer for M. Teixeira and J. Johnson
D. Ortiz, A. Miles, and R. Freel for C. Beltran and B. Wagner
S. Marshall and D. Patton for J. Cantu
K. Fukudome, A. Guzman, and S. Castro for B. Hall
C. Gomez and C. Fox for J. Baker
J. Cantu, T. Wright, and K. Burke for N. Johnson
T. Lilly and R. Cantzler for C. Carpenter
C. Carpenter for R. Johnson and J. English
E. Loaiz, J. Herrera, and S. Taguchi for D. Price and A. Colome

Sorry for the long post, but like I said I'm just lovin this game right now and had to vent. Funny storylines of the season, Bradley has gone on the DL twice, Ramirez and Lilly have spent time there as well, and my personal favorite:
7/12 Signed LF Dave Roberts to a 4 year/1.3M contract
7/15 Recalled LF Dave Roberts from Triple-A Iowa
7/16 I started Roberts in his first game with the major league club. In his first at-bat he hits a triple! On the foul ball of the next batter, he tears a ligament in his finger diving back into third base and is done for the season

That is surprising. In my franchise the Red Sox seem almost incapable of losing. I'm playing as the Braves, but every once in a while I'll take a peek at the AL East standings, and I'm always impressed with how well they're doing. Their record is 82-29, which would put them on pace to win like 120 games. I was pretty happy earlier in the season when I was able to walk away with a 3-3 split after playing them in two inter-league series.

With 3 weeks left in the season, I was 3 games ahead of a hard charging Brewers club that was on fire. Then I took 6 of 7 against them as part of a 15-2 roll and now I've clinched the division with a record of 101-55, with only 6 games to play. The NL East and NL West are hotly contested (Mets slightly up on Phils; and Dodgers slightly ahead of the DBacks and Padres). The AL East is close between TB and NY, with Boston about 6 back and now out of it. And the Mariners are 1 game ahead of Angels, with both teams under .500.

Looking forward to the playoffs which are about to start. In season 1, I finished 96-66 and got swept by a Braves club I'd won 5 of 6 against in the regular season.
