Is FNR4 "that" good? Or..........
Posted on July 5, 2009 at 10:32 PM.
Even though my favorite sports team is a pro football team (Cowboys), my favorite sport is actually "college" football. There's just nothing in sports like the beauty and pageantry of Saturday afternoon college football.

That said...every July I'm on tip-toe anticipation for NCAA Football.

Then this year came. I recently got Fight Night 4 and its had me hostage ever since I popped it in. I never thought "boxing" could win me over again like this, but it has. Even to the point that I haven't played the NCAA demo any more since I downloaded it. In fact, I forgot I had it. What? Me? Normally I run that thing over and over until the real thing comes hits.

With NCAA 10 just about a week away, I honestly have to say it has not been on the brain. And trust me, for me that's saying a WHOLE lot. Heck, I go way back with EA when they first made Bill Walsh College Football on Sega Genesis.

Now I'm kinda wondering... How in the world could I of all people forget I had the NCAA demo?

Is it that Fight Night 4 is just THAT super?

Is it that Madden has overshadowed with the upgrades that NCAA didn't get?

Or I'm I not admitting to myself that the demo was a disappointment?

Any thoughts?

Fight Night Rd 4 is not that good, but its addictive. I think its that simple.

I don't know of anything I'd call addictive that wasn't good. ????????

FNR4 reminds me of a really addicting flash game. Simple controls, but complex enough to hook you in.

college this year sucks

What gets me is that boxer share. The replay value is so high because of this. You can continue to bring in fresh, new guys just as if it were real boxing.

OK...someone might say "well what about Team Builder?" But I don't need make believe teams in college football. Its just a feature I coulda did without.

Drugs, Crack Cocaine can not be good for anyone but its addictive. Have you ever seen what crack does to people and there families? Your statement was not well thought out my friend.

Well see my mind isn't in that area. So I can only speak for myself homie. Never tried any, don't plan to.

Don't have to try it, just live a full life and you will see that your statement was more brash than truth, but whatever.

Jusmegamer. This might sound jacked up, buuutt, folks that smoke pipes are addicted to it because it is GOOD to them, its a good feeling. So yeah, if something is addictive, it really is good.

from what I have played from FNR4 it is really good so yeah i think its just that game. good for you because i need something to get rid of this anticipation.

My guess is that EA is resting on their laurels with the NCAA franchise. It seems apparent that not very much attention was given to NCAA 10.

I disagree that everything addictive is good, some people continue to use heavy drugs because they become sick if they dont use them, not because its so good to them, it has simply become a part of them. We just aren't of the same mindset when it comes to this one.

FN4 is addictive, challenging and FUN. Legacy mode and boxer share only up the stakes and replay value.
NCAA10 based on the Demo and those who have it already i can say this......I will be saving $60 on that pile this year. There have been changes, but the game STILL plays like rubbish...Passing on NCAA for the 1st time in 6+ yrs. Sad that NCAA has gone SO FAR SOUTH. Hope madden delivers. We cant go 6 yrs without a great football sim can we?

Yeah that boxer share does reeally make this game's replay value very high. I'm already up to 80 fighters. I have all kinds of legends and current guys too.

I wouldn't say I'm so down on NCAA that I call it a pile though. I'm not as high on it as Madden. But I'll end up with it. Mostly because college is my thing.
