Kobe can shoot the three, blow by anyone, dunk, shoot foul shots, hit the mid range shots unguarded or with three people in his face, and oh yea WIN! Lebron has been to the championship 1 time and got swept did not even win 1 game is that how the supposed best player in the nation plays? I dont think so... and all Lebron can do is dunk and shoot layups but in the end it all comes down to winning and Lebron simply can not do it! If your gonna put a blog up like this at least make it reasonable like Wade or Lebron, Kobe is on his own level and with a few more championships better that Jordan

Hells angel is def a kobe fan to the core lol. but i don't think you can measure them the same you would have to wait till both of their careers are over. and kobe will never be better than jordan sorry. championships really don't mean a player is better if that was the case we bill russell would be the greatest player of all time, but when you take into consideration jordan what position he played how he scored and when he scored how well he played defense how in his 3rd year he averaged 37.1 points per game yeah kobe will never be better, but Lebron statistically is better than kobe, but kobe is a better clutch player than Lebron hands down. but if you had never seen either one of them play and you could only go by stats you would say Lebron is better. but personally i think lebron is a better player and Kobe is no longer a student of the game he's a teacher and i think that's what set's him apart from Lebron. but i will say this Lebron did carry a trash team on his back where he single handedly demolished the pistons in their top form all by himself. but i still think Wade is better than both of em since he was scoring leader 2nd in steals and the leading shot blocker at the 2 guard position. lol but Kobe has always had a better team. just check the stats look at the numbers not just scores but eff numbers as well that can tell you alot about a team .

I can't understand where these comparisons even come from. Kobe has been the best for the last 13 years, and he's outlasted everyone who was supposed to be "better" during that time as well, such as Grant Hill, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, & Tracy McGrady to name just a few. It seems like everyone wants "somebody" to be better because Kobe isn't the greatest personality to root for, and I guess I can understand that. But until Lebron wins a championship, or FOUR, lol, I don't see the comparison being warranted. At all.

I completely agree with you! Another thing i will say is that it seems like whatever the ESPN analysts say becomes the belief of the nation! If ESPN says that Lebron is better then everyone will believe it. It is amazing to me how people can not seem to form their own opinions.

Well the problem comes from pretty much who likes who, but when you break it down at just look at stats compared to know how they pretty much are the most dominant players in the league. and nobody ever said t mac, vince, or grant hill would be better, Kobe was toted as the next best thing since he was drafted, and the first time the lakers played the bulls everyone was talking about MJ Passing the Torch to Kobe, so those statements don't really make any sense. and i don't think it's the analyst what they go by are stats and on paper LBJ is a better player as in meaning he does everything. The thing that sets Kobe apart is his mindset and his know to score when needed . Kobe's Mindset and they way he see's the game far surpasses any player in the league, he play's smart, he knows how to get his shot off from crazy angles while being in rhythm and making it look easy, and that only comes from hard work and dedication, you could tell from day 1 that Kobe always wanted to be clutch more than anything else so he worked on his range because he also use to shoot alot of airballs in clutch situations the talent to score was already their but he needed that edge. LBJ will get that in due time but for now his strengths are his sheer speed and ability to get to the rim and get his shot off, his passing ability, his rebounding ability his blocking ability, and his will to win so i don't doubt for a minute that he won't get a couple of rings. but if he keeps this up the way he has been playing i think when both of them are retired idk i think LBJ could be a step ahead of kobe when it comes to the list of greatest players. I mean just compare kobes 1st 6 years starting to LBJ's 6 years and tell me who stats are better. and to all the naysayers who hate lebron for whatever reason, there is no such thing as hype if he is producing. simple and plain. Kobe has hype jordan had hype you can't even call it hype anymore because they live up to it. so it's really not hype just those who hate a particular player call it that. and the comparisons come from the same place that they came from when they try to compare Kobe to Jordan. it's okay to compare great players it's almost like a passing the torch sort of thing, when you see them talk to LBJ and they ask him about Kobe he speaks very highly of Kobe, he talks about his work ethic, his attn to detail, and his desire to win, LBJ wants all those qualities and he's learning year by year. sorry for the long post their more i could say but i'll save it for later lol.

ok authentic24 by comparing Kobes first 6 years to Lebrons first 6 years i can clearly tell u who is better and its kobe by far.. In lebrons first 6 years he reached the championship 1 time and did not win a single game, they lost the series 0-4. In Kobes first 6 years he won three consecutive chamionships in 2000 2001 2002 so i do not see how u can say lebron is better. U wanna know y he scores so much its because he shoots literally every time down court whereas kobe uses his ability along with his teammates abilities hence 4 titles to lebrons 0. If he truely was the greatest player in the league he would have at least came away with 1 championship.

@Hells6Angel66 i understand where you are coming from but im trying to be fair Kobe had a monster squad in his first three championships, im not comparing rings im comparing stats and lebron's look better, im not downing Kobe but Kobe can go 8-21 and still win a game. Lebron can't do that, his teammates are inconsistent always has been, Kobe has never had to do it himself, LBJ has done it all by himself and if he doesn't produce they lose where if kobe doesn't produce his team can still win so don't compare that, and i think it's unfair to compare the 2 because we are talking individual's not teams, so the fact that kobe has a ring is irrelavent. but go buy stats of the individual and then determine the who's the better player, not by how many rings. rings come to a good team not to a individual.

that is the roster of their first championship team and i would like to know how this is such a monster roster. They have Kobe, Shaq, and i guess Fisher but honestly who else? I do not feel this is a monster roster at all.

ur also saying lebron has no teammates Daniel gibson is good ilgauskas is good mo williams is really good delonte west is pretty good and now they have added shaq, wally szvzerbiak, and joe smith for the next year i mean come on that is a really good roster. the reason they do not win is because lebron has no faith in his team at all. u can not win a game if u run down and shoot every play it just will not work. the only time that should happen is in the 4th quarter when u need to come up big and oh yea kobe is better at that than lebron 2. idk how u feel lebron is this god of a player when all he can do is dunk shoot layups and never pass the ball.

Kobe was touted for sure, but every one of those players I mentioned, at least for a time, was considered as good or better than Kobe when it was clearly never the case.

Also, comparing stats makes no sense to me when:

1) Lebron came into the league with free reign over his team from the jump, he was able to put up as many shots as he wanted and he was the designated leader. Kobe sacrificed the first half of his career to play with Shaq, and win titles. Once he had free reign, he wound up scoring 81 points and averaging the most PPG since Michael Jordan himself

2) They don't play the same position or run the same style of offense. I would expect Lebron to grab rebounds, he's a small forward with a much bigger body at a closer proximity to the basket. He also runs an offense that relies on him to be the playmaker whereas the Triangle forces everyone to touch and handle the ball in some capacity. Give Kobe the ball at the top of the key and let him dribble around and I'm sure he'd have way more assists and points than he does now. Guaranteed

Oh absolutely he would have more points and assists than he does now. I also agree that while stats are somewhat important they are not the main concern here. Great players simply find a way to win no matter what exp... Ben Rothlisberger... his stats are far from the best but and u wouldnt even want him on your fantasy football team but there is no doubt he is one of the best in the league because he finds a way to win when his team needs him. Kobe no matter what will do what it takes to win a game for his team. In the 4th quarter there is no one in the would you would want to have the ball than Kobe Bryant. Lebron simply can not win period and that is a huge part in being a great player.
